An audit of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority found it had “adequate controls” when it allocated pandemic relief funds to businesses across the state. Conducted by the Office of the State Auditor, the audit examined 40 loans that were given out early in the pandemic and found that, because of an error, 14 of the businesses that received about $1.3 million were ineligible to receive that money. However, because these funds were state dollars, the businesses are not at risk of having the money clawed back. The error was caught and changed by EDA last Summer. PoliticoNJ
