We are asking you to put North-JerseyNews.com on your Christmas list this year by pushing the donation button here.
The ask comes as the role of journalism—especially an independent operation like North-JerseyNews.com covering national issues from a local perspective—is so sorely needed. We are not affiliated with any of the recognizable papers and websites in the state. What we do is cover the issues and politicians that are important to you, the North Jersey resident.
But being independent means we need your help. To those you made a donation earlier this year, we are so appreciative—thank you a million times over. Simply put, we need contributions from readers like you to continue to provide stories that are not featured or as in-depth as other media outlets that undercover our market.Â
Over the last 22 months, we have provided the rare commodity to North Jersey residents—local news that is 100% free and no paywall. We have done this while keeping true to our mission statement: reporting objectively on the decisions made by elected representatives impacting North Jersey residents. What it hasn’t been and will never be is a site dealing with conspiracies and rumors, radical viewpoints from either side of the aisle having little impact on the work done on a daily basis by those working for you in Washington and Trenton.
We have been especially proud of our campaign coverage this year. We have invested time and resources to cover both federal and state races. And it’s not just election day—we covered the primary races in New Jersey for the statehouse and the governor’s mansion. Our most trafficked days this past year were election nights as well as the days after as the votes continued to be counted. But the pandemic has affected our bottom line like the rest of the world and we are asking you to consider supporting North-JerseyNews.com with a voluntary donation.
The site was founded because we believe there is a glaring need for a news operation that speaks to the majority of North Jersey citizens that are looking for common sense solutions to our everyday problems. We are of the strong opinion that Democrats and Republicans need to work together to move our country and state forward.
Bluntly, we are filling a hole in a media market that too often overlooks the everyday issues and politics of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, and Warren counties. And we are growing—our newsletters now reach over 115,000 mailboxes three times a week and we recently completed a redesign of the website to make it easier for visitors to navigate as well as feature current stories more prominently. Besides a donation, we ask that you tell your friends and family about us.
To grow even further, we ask you to consider making a donation. We have set up a page on our website so that you can contribute whatever and however much you would like. Your donations will enable us to continue to provide high-quality journalism. We thank you for your readership and support.
