Latest COVID-19 numbers in New Jersey

North-JerseyNews.com has changed how we cover COVID-19 as the pandemic moves to an endemic. While we will still provide reporting on any major developments in regards to the pandemic, we will be breaking out the most recent numbers from the state’s dashboard instead of including them with a story as we have done since March 2020. It is our belief that this will still provide you with a complete picture of COVID in our community while allowing us to continue to cover other issues of importance in North Jersey. 

COVID-19 cases: 

New daily PCR cases: 1,143; Probable Cases: 374

Total Cases: 2,199,807 (1,898,757 PCR cases, 301,050 probable cases)

New Confirmed Deaths: 2 (1 probable deaths, 33,232 total deaths)

Rate of Transmission: 1.01, up from 1.00 the day before

Percent Positivity: 5.7% as of March 26; by region, the rate was 5.9% in the North, 6.8% in the Central region and 3.4% in the South.

Bergen County: 177 New Cases, 68 Probable Cases, 3,099 deaths, 322 probable deaths 

Essex County: 109 New Cases, 23 Probable Cases, 3,283 deaths, 311 probable deaths 

Hudson County: 116 New Cases, 32 Probable Cases, 2,495 total deaths, 221 probable deaths 

Morris County: 82 New Cases, 20 Probable Cases, 1,228 deaths, 299 probable deaths 

Passaic County: 68 New Cases, 19 Probable Cases, 2,124 deaths, 201 probable deaths 

Sussex County: 13 New Cases, 4 Probable Cases, 384 deaths, 88 probable deaths 

Warren County: 9 New Cases, 2 Probable Cases, 314 deaths, 27 probable deaths

Hospitals 

Hospitalizations: 331 (140 North, 109 Central and 82 South)

Patients in intensive care units: 58

Patients on ventilators: 33

Patients discharged: 59

Current number of staffers: 4,340 (38,338 overall)

Number of Deaths: 9,395 overall (8,530 reported by facilities, 149 staff deaths)

Vaccine 

Total number of COVID-19 vaccines administered in New Jersey: 14,424,212 (13,856,351 in-state, plus an additional 567,861 administered out-of-state)

Fully Vaccinated: 6,838,034 (6,611,439 in state and another 226,595 out of state). By county,  720,362 in Bergen County, 591,396 in Essex, 528,108 in Hudson, 385,699 in Morris, 359,058 in Passaic, 92,570 in Sussex, and 60,451 in Warren.

Booster Shots: 3,247,552  (1,793,975 Pfizer, 1,385,329 Moderna and 68,248 Johnson & Johnson)
